Turtle Cheesecake and Baked Potato Soup recipe layouts

I love these layouts! Designing these layouts was fun but what was even MORE fun was helping my friends try "new to them" techniques" in the creating of these pages. The garden tools and sea turtle dies are by QuicKutz. It was the first time any of my girlfriends had ever used QuicKutz brand die cuts. The paper tearing technique was new along with chalking the edges of the paper and brushing chalk over the kraft cardstock to get that muddled effect of sand on the beach. The kraft cardstock is from Hobby Lobby and the blue cardstock is from Stampin Up. The vegetable paper has been something that's been kicking around in my nook for well over a year now. I loved it when I first saw it and knew from the start that it would one day make a great recipe or garden layout. I chose the eggplant colored cardstock as an accent piece to divide the printed paper from the kraft cardstock. Some chalking of the garden tools gave them the appearance of being 3-d. I don't know which part was more fun...making the layouts with my girlfriends or having a delicious lunch with them :-)

page 1 of my Picture a day Dec 2006 project

This is the 1st page of my month long scrapbooking project. I took a picture each day of something and wrote about it. The embellishment in the corner is something I came up with on my own. Personally speaking, I'm addicted to Prima Flowers, LOL!

Welcome to my Gallery

So after some thought I decided to host a gallery blog for My Scrapbook Nook called "My Look Look Book". Why call it what I did? Well, it takes me back to the wonderful pictures books that my children loved to sit down with for hours. My children were drawn to them like a moth to a flame. I love how just by viewing a picture book could be such a terrific source of inspiration for young and old alike.
